Cadbury (Gorilla Marketing)
Good Advertising, Video/AudioLots of things have already been said about this latest campaign by Cadbury, Gorilla Ad, and since it was first aired on TV it has gained a massive following on YOUTUBE and DIGG. This is without doubt one of the best examples of how the so called big boys have used social networking and the online marketing machine to reach a massive audience. Cadbury spend millions of pounds year after year on conventional TV marketing, we are all familiar in the UK and most certainly in the Granada TV region, with the TV ads that appear just before one of the Northwest’s most popular TV programmes Coronation Street, for those who are not their ads for their excellent confectionery appear at the start of this programme which is watched by millions. The difference being is that the cost of these TV ads is massive. The distribution of the video below is costing nothing. If you have not seen it yet where have you been. This is without doubt one of the best example’s for this type of marketing, it really and literally sums up the term “GORILLA MARKETING” .
Let me know if this type of advertising works for you? It certainly falls into the first two main parameters for great advertising, which are “it gets seen” and it most certainly “gets remembered” but how many people ACT on it. Does it make you rush out and buy chocolate, or when you are next at the confectionary counter choosing your next bar of chocolate is it going to be Cadbury, Nestlé or Hershey?
